EXHIBITION runs from Nov 2025 - April 2026 at The Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery, Nipaluna/Hobart
BODY SHELLS is a series of durational live self-portraits. Traversing multiple temporalities, exploring themes of reverence, exposure and endurance through the reflective and disciplined process of body casting.
Stretches of self-determination slowly and cyclically generate plaster archives of the body, suspending memory through detail and debris
~
The gallery begins almost empty. By the end of the exhibtion Jenni will have spent over 50 hours in a live creative process, documenting and re-documenting her body using plaster alongside reflective writings. The casts and writings accumulate steadily, suspended by hooks and chains, questioning notions around self-perception, self-worth, time and imperfection.
